National Teachers’ Science Congress kick-starts in Faridabad

National Teacher’s Science Congress (NTSC) kick-started today at Al-Falah School of Engineering and Technology, Dhauj, Faridabad. The four-day event, which will end on December 17, 2013, had seen the confluence of professors, scientists and teachers from across the country, presenting paper and discussing innovative teaching concept, according to a press statement.

National experts are also set to share their insights on the current developments in pedagogy, evaluation techniques and counselling. An exhibition is also being run concurrently with interesting activities, demonstrating the low-cost teaching and learning methodologies.

The theme of the congress is ‘Science Education for Sustainable Development’ and selected papers will be presented and debated during four day extravaganza. Pundit Siv Charan Lal Sharma, Minister of Labour & Employment, Government of Haryana formally inaugurated NTSC. Prof Yash Pal former Chancellor of JNU presided over the function YS Rajan, the distinguished professor of ISRO delivered the keynote address.

All the states apart from Sikkim, Mizoram, Nagaland, Andaman & Nicobar took part in the event. An estimated 300 teachers were selected through a process pan India and only those who were shortlisted were invited to participate in the event.
