Kawasaki Z1000 and Ninja 1000 motorcycles launched in India for a price of Rs 12,50,000

India Kawasaki Motors (IKM) launched two of its globally renowned motorcycles – Z1000- the first naked bike and Ninja 1000 to strengthen its presence in India’s high end motorcycle market, according to a company statement. These high performance bikes combine the finest of power, torque, dexterous handling and super-sport styling. IKM is all set to inaugurate its exclusive dealership in Delhi to expand its footprint across North India.

In India, the new bikes will be imported as completely built units (CBU) from Japan and will be retailed through the existing standalone showroom of Kawasaki in Pune and in Delhi after the launch.  Both models – Z1000 and Ninja 1000 will be priced at Rs. 12, 50,000 (Ex-Showroom, Pune and Delhi) respectively.

Hyundai India to increase prices of its cars varying from Rs 5,000 to Rs 20,000

Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL), largest passenger car exporter and second largest car manufacturer had announced the price increase across all its models, according to a company statement.

Commenting on the price hike, Rakesh Srivastava, Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing said: “In these adverse market conditions there is continuous increase in input costs on account of rupee depreciation and inflationary trends, this has made the price increase inevitable. We have been absorbing most of the costs but now we are compelled to consider the price increase. The quantum of price increase will vary from Rs 5,000 to Rs 20,000 across all our models”. The price increase across all the models would come into effect in January 2014.

BMW 5 Series car launched in India for a price of Rs 46,90,000

The model update of BMW’s immensely successful four-door sedan, the new BMW 5 Series was launched today in India. The new BMW 5 Series is locally produced at the BMW Plant Chennai in diesel variants and is available at BMW dealerships across India from today onwards, according to a company statement.

Automatic transmission
The eight-speed automatic transmission with Cruise Control performs smooth, almost imperceptible gear shifts. At any time, in any gear, the transmission collaborates perfectly with the engine, enabling it to develop its full power and efficiency. All models of the new BMW 5 Series feature the ECO PRO mode as standard, enabling efficient driving and reduced fuel consumption. Tata Nano CNG emax launched in Delhi with a price of Rs 240,000

Tata Motors today formally announced the launch of the new Tata Nano CNG emax. The Tata Nano CNG emax is powered by a fuel efficient, state-of-the-art engine, with CNG and Petrol bi-fuel system options. The car has the lowest carbon footprint of 75.6 g/km* (Mileage or touring range indicated are as per ARAI standard test conditions, of all base models) and is the most fuel efficient car in India with a mileage of 36 km/kg. The Tata Nano CNG emax will now be available across CNG markets like Delhi, Gujarat, parts of Maharashtra and Lucknow, according to a company statement. Tata Motors showcased its emax range at the Horizonext event, held in Pune, in June 2013, with a commitment to launch its CNG range in a phased manner, in FY 14. Sachin Tendulkar, the legendary sportsman unveiled the all-new BMW 1 Series during an exclusive launch event in Mumbai. Armaan Ebrahim, FIA GT1 World Championship race driver from India, flagged off the all-new BMW 1 Series exclusively fitted with BMW M Performance kit, according to a company statement.

The all-new BMW 1 Series is being manufacturered at its plant in Chennai in diesel and petrol variants and is available at BMW dealerships across India from today onwards.

The all-new BMW 1 Series is available in petrol (BMW 116i) and diesel variants (BMW 118d, BMW 118d Sport and BMW 118d Sport Plus). The Sport and Sport Plus appeal to the athletic and powerful with more aggressive design features and highlights.
The all India Ex-Showroom price for The BMW 116i is Rs 20,90,000, while  BMW 118d is priced at Rs 22,90,000, the BMW 118d Sport carries a price tag of Rs 25,90,000 and the BMW 118d Sport Plus is priced at Rs 29,90,000. Price prevailing at the time of delivery will be applicable. Delivery will be made ‘ex-showroom’.  Ex-showroom price excludes Road tax, RTO statutory taxes / fees, insurance and Octroi (if applicable). Prices / options subject to change without prior notice.

The all-new BMW 1 Series is available in two non-metallic paintworks: Alpine White and Crimson Red and the following six metallic paintworks: Black Sapphire, Deep Sea Blue, Glacier Silver, Midnight Blue, Mineral Grey and Valencia Orange. The standard Cloth Move Anthracite and Sensatec upholstery is available. Interior trims offered are ‘Black high-gloss with Highlight trim finishers Coral Red matt’ and ‘Satin Silver matt’.
The BMW 118d Sport and BMW 118d Sport Plus come with red-black accents that highlight the dynamic poise as well as ‘BMW Sport’ entry sills, sports seats, a leather steering wheel with contrasting red stitching, a red chronoscale speedometer and electric glass roof as standard features.

The all-new BMW 1 Series
The all-new BMW 1 Series owes its muscular appearance to its spectacular design and remarkable styling. Its sporty proportions, long wheelbase and short overhangs make it instantly recognizable as it cruises the city streets. Its sophisticated character is further accentuated by its distinct shoulder line. The front of the car is dominated by the large BMW kidney-shaped radiator grille, boldly shaped headlight units and three-section air intake. At the back, the powerfully designed wheel arches emphasise the classic BMW rear-wheel drive.
Anyone who takes a seat in the all-new BMW 1 Series immediately notices the intuitively arranged controls and the exceptional all-round visibility. The cockpit is angled towards the driver and puts all the important controls within easy reach to provide a sense of personal control and comfort. Toyota Camry Hybrid car launched in India for a price of Rs 29,75,000

 Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) today launched India’s first ever locally manufactured hybrid – The All New Camry Hybrid. The vehicle will be manufactured at a separate assembly line within TKM’s second plant located in Bidadi, near Bangalore, in the south Indian state of Karnataka.

Globally India is the 9th country to manufacture Toyota hybrid vehicles, according to a company statement.
The petrol Camry, the legendary cornerstone of  Toyota brand, was first introduced in 2002, in India. In 2012, TKM began locally manufacturing the petrol Camry. Like its petrol counterpart, the New Camry hybrid is based on the 7th generation of the Camry.

Aptly named Hybrid which means ‘fusion’, the Camry hybrid combines a newly developed hybrid exclusive 2.5L Beltless petrol engine with an electric motor. The vehicle runs on Hybrid Synergy Drive, which intelligently senses when to switch between the two power sources – petrol engine and electric motor. It controls the engine and motor output for optimum fuel efficiency.  The battery supplies electricity to the motor, enhancing the driving power. The engine and motor together give an impressive total system power output of 205 PS.
In addition to powering the vehicle, the motor is activated as a generator to convert the moving vehicle’s kinetic energy into electricity. The generated electricity charges the battery. This process, usually happens at the time of decelerating and braking and is called regenerative braking.
The vehicle gives an exceptional mileage of 19.16 kmpl*, the best in its segment. A testimony to its hybrid technology the car produces just 122.8 gm of CO2 emissions per km of driving, which is far lesser than the conventional vehicles of similar engine size.  The Camry Hybrid comes with an Electronically Controlled Continuous Variable Transmission (E-CVT), which provides enhanced driving performance, with reduced fuel consumption and lower NVH.

The All New Camry Hybrid has been styled befitting a prestige sedan and is fully loaded with high end luxury features. In addition to the features available in the petrol Camry, the Camry Hybrid comes with more than 35 enhancements. The ride experience is heightened by an extremely quiet ride, the vehicle is almost soundless, especially when you start it. The high density dashboard silencer material, acoustic windshield glass and the E-CVT further brings down the engine noise and avoids sounds from outside, entering the car. Like its petrol counterpart, the Camry Hybrid offers best-in-class cabin space, derived from the impressively designed wide body.

Audi Q3 S Edition launched in Delhi for a price of 24,99,000

Audi, the German luxury car manufacturer, today unveiled the Audi Q3 S Edition-a sporty version of its SUV of the Year. Audi unveiled the SUV at  the opening of its third luxury car showroom, Audi Delhi Central in one of the most prominent locations in New Delhi.

Breaking ground in a new market segment, the Audi Q3 S Edition is priced at Rs 24,99,000 (Ex-Showroom, New Delhi) and will be available at all Audi dealerships across India from end of August. Audi, today also announced the launch of Audi Club India, a first of its kind initiative in the luxury car industry in India. An exclusive ‘Audi owners only’ community, Audi Club India is designed as a platform for Audi customers to come together, interact with like-minded individuals and enjoy a host of benefits.

Rigid, yet safe
Audi Q3 S Edition weighs 1,520 kilograms. Its rigid, safe and quiet occupant cell integrates a number of ultra high strength steels. Both the engine hood and the tailgate are made of aluminium. As is typical of the Q models from Audi, the undivided tail lights are integrated into the tailgate, which wraps around the pillars. The wrap around, a large arc extending from one front door to the other, is a design feature borrowed from the large Audi models series. The compact SUV is 4.39 metres long, 1.83 metres wide and 1.60 metres high.
The Audi Q3 S Edition offers ample room for all five passengers and sets new standards for ergonomics and workmanship. The luggage compartment of the compact SUV has a capacity of 460 litres, which can be increased to 1,365 litres by folding down the split rear seat backs. A roof rail is standard, noted the report.
