Ford created history by becoming the first automobile manufacturer to open a Vehicle Personalisation Centre in India.
By setting up the Centre, the owners of the new EcoSport are able to customise their vehicles. What is more, the Centre is also offering a slew of top quality vehicle personalisation options to give its patrons the power of choice that further enhance the great value proposition of the Ford EcoSport, a company statement noted.
Located in the vicinity of Ford India’s Chennai plant, the Centre is spread over 35,000 square feet. John Cooper, vice president Customer Service Division at Ford Asia Pacific and Nigel Harris, president, Ford India jointly inaugurated VPC, the first such Ford-operated unit in Asia Pacific region.

While speaking on the occasion, Cooper said: “Customers today view vehicles as an extension of their own personalities and are keen to customize their cars to stand out from the clutter. Our customers today are socially conscious who don’t compromise and want things done their way. They desire for enhanced levels of personalisation to make vehicles look distinctly theirs. Adding to the overall brand ownership experience, we will provide customers peace of mind through premium quality customization options that they can trust without compromising on safety, quality or vehicle warranties.”
The Centre is equipped with 19 ergonomically designed modification bays operated by Ford’s trained technicians to deliver the level of trust and quality expected from Ford vehicles. “Our company is committed to design innovative solutions that delight customers by delivering ‘what they want and value’. Our innovation-led approach has helped us democratize in-car technologies and offer unique service packages that deliver class-leading cost of ownership. The Vehicle Personalisation Centre is an extension of this customer-centric innovation,” Cooper added.
The VPC is a win-win solution for Ford’s customers as well the company’s dealers. While Ford customers will get quality, factory-fitted customisation options without any waiting period, the centre will simplify transactions for the auto maker’s dealers and remove the need for them to stock vehicle accessories.
To start with, the PVC offers three customisation options on the Ford EcoSport.
The initial offerings include:
· Spare Wheel (Cover) Pack for all EcoSport variants
· Alloys Pack that offers premium quality alloys and rear-spoiler for EcoSport’s Ambiente and Trend trims
· Sports Pack that includes rear-spoiler, LED scuff plate, roof cross-bar for EcoSport’s Titanium and Titanium (O) trims
These premium quality option packs are being offered at affordable prices that will further strengthen the ‘great value proposition of the EcoSport’. At the time of booking the Ford EcoSport, customers can simply choose an option pack of their choice and place an order at the dealer. Ford plans to expand the personalisation centre’s offering offerings later this year.
