ACMA CEOs delegation visiting Japan to strengthen auto components business

The Auto Component Manufacturers Association of India (ACMA), the prime body representing the interest of Indian auto component industry is leading a 25-member CEOs delegation to Japan from February 2-5, 2015.


According to a statement released by ACMA, the delegation is led by Ramesh Suri, President, ACMA and Chairman of Subros Limited. The team includes CEOs from leading auto part makers is visiting Tokyo and Osaka to scout for opportunities and enhance business connections with the Japanese automotive industry.

During the four days, the delegates will interact with Japanese OEMs, Japanese component manufacturers, government officials and local industry bodies to update them on the growing capabilities of the Indian Auto component Industry and explore opportunities for potential JVs and strategic alliances. They will also meet CEOs and Purchasing Heads of leading OEMs including Daihatsu, Kubota, Nissan, Suzuki and other major Tier-I and Tier-II firms in Japan.

ACMA is also organising a seminar with Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO) which is supported by the Indian embassy and Japan Auto Parts Industries Association (JAPIA) with the objective to strengthen trade and partnership between the two countries. Over 160 delegates will be attending this networking event.

Suri explained: Japanese automotive industry has played a pivotal role in nurturing the Indian automotive industry and with this visit we look forward to strengthening our partnership with the OEMs, component suppliers and especially SMEs. The visit will also provide an opportunity to address the rising trade deficit between the two countries, in 2013-14 India exported auto components worth $ 240 million to Japan while Japan exported USD 1569 million to India.”

ACMA has undertaken several business development initiatives for the Indian Auto Components industry in past. With this visit, ACMA expects to facilitate a better understanding of the Japanese vehicle manufacturers’ global outlook and gauge

expectations with respect to Indian suppliers. The Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India (ACMA) is the apex body representing the interest of the Indian Auto Component Industry.
