Base Batteries launch three new products for Indian automotive industry

Base Batteries, a top player in Indian power back-up industry,launched three new products – Magik, BFX and Thunder batteries for the automobile industry recently. With 27 years of technological innovation in automotive and standby power solutions, Base is known for its unparallel expertise in battery industry. Magik, BFX and Thunder are designed using hybrid technology to handle harsh Indian weather and road conditions, according to a company statement.

Having the ability to withstand any sort of abuse, this battery will perform even after ones car gives up. Thunder car batteries come from Base’s wide range of automotive batteries. It is a value for money offering that is reliable and has proven its toughness in all terrains. Also, all these batteries come with a special vibration proof element which keeps the battery on top. These three products have been designed to cater to customers across the spectrum.
A special grid alloy to maximize corrosion resistance, envelope separators from France which are designed to help eliminate shorting and “corrode through and special paste formulation which increases the durability of the plate by reduced aging rate of active material and strong adhesion of active material are some of the key features these products offer.
Speaking to the media on the occasion, Girish Arora, MD and Founder, Base Batteries said: “Indian roads and weather conditions are known for giving tough challenge to automotive industry with constant need for improvement. We have designed these batteries using Lead- Calcium-Silver hybrid technology which is a result of 27 years of technological innovation in automotive industry. With these batteries powering vehicle, one will be able to tackle these challenges with ease and completely hassle free.” These Base Magik, BFX and Thunder batteries will be available across the country through, Base’s 15,000 dealer network and will be offered to OEM’s in the coming future.

Base is building India’s largest green-field battery manufacturing facility in Hosur, Tamil Nadu, which will be one of the largest in south east Asia. This mega-plant is spread over 235 acres and is built with an estimated cost of Rs. 457 crore in its first phase and will be commissioned in March 2014. Base has its state-of-art manufacturing and R&D facility at Solan, Himachal Pradesh. The facility is spread over 30 acres and is surrounded by reserve forests and small rivers, the manufacturing plant is a unique mix of ecological ambience and next generation technology.  Base makes batteries from 2.5 Ah to 200 Ah for a varied range from two-wheelers, automotive, inverter, generator, ups and solar. Base has the distinction be the first Indian battery company to have tailor-made a special battery for a F1 car.
