WABCO opens fifth plant in India at Lucknow, to supply advance braking technologies to major truck makers

WABCO Holdings Inc., top global provider of technologies in terms of improving the safety, as well as efficiency of commercial vehicles, formally opened its fifth production plant in India on September 3, 2014 at Lucknow, the capital of the north Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.

WABCO’s latest plant inauguration signals its continued ability to anticipate and align with the requirements of its customers in the country through the supply of just-in-time, first-rate engineered, locally adapted safety and efficiency technologies for trucks and buses built in in the domestic market.
At the newest plant, WABCO will manufacture advanced technologies, including anti-lock braking systems (ABS), actuators and a range of braking valves for multiple global commercial vehicle makers operating in India.
World class capacity
WABCO’s new plant in Lucknow expands the company’s world-class manufacturing capacity in India beyond its four existing plants. The auto components major has two manufacturing facilities in Chennai, one factory in Jamshedpur and another unit in Pantnagar in Rajashtan. What is more, the company’s new 11-acre (40,500 square meters) facility provides employment to 150 people. The firm is aiming at employing 300 persons when this plant goes on stream in 2015.
