Nissan terminates agreement with Hover Automotive India, to manage on its own sales and distribution

The Japanese auto maker, Nissan has announced this morning that its Indian subsidiary, Nissan Motor India Private Limited has assumed full responsibility for the sales, marketing and sitribution of all its branded vehicles and parts in the domestic market with immediate effect from February 14, 2014.
According to a statement issued by NMIPL, Nissan’s agreement with Hover Automotive India Private Limited, for the exclusive sales, marketing and distribution of Nissan branded vehicles and parts in the country has been terminated. Further details about the business structure will be announced in due course, the handout added.
Kenichiro Yomura, Nissan President, India Operations, said: “Nissan is now at a point of maturity in India where the time is right to establish our own marketing and distribution operations. Our priority will be to ensure a smooth transition from current operations. We remain committed to our customers and will continue to deliver high quality products and services”
Nissan Motor India is a wholly owned arm of Nissan Motor Co Ltd Japan. The company was incorporated in 2005 and offers innovative and exciting products across hatchback, MUV, SUV and sedan segments in India. Nissan together with its global alliance partner Renault set up a manufacturing plant and a Research & Development Centre near Chennai.
