It was a perfect evening when Anshum Anand, Country Head of Gates ETH Foundation hosted and unveiled Project Bhaavini, according to an official statement.
Gates Education, Training and Healthcare Foundation (Known as Gates ETH Foundation), strives to provide education, healthcare and vocational training support to girls and women from underprivileged families within India.
Sumita Dass, CEO Award function and Neera Sareen, Director, National Head Women empowerment Cell, Project Bhaavini graced the occasion. The event took place at India Islamic Cultural Centre. The award for Capt Vijyant Thapar Bravery Award was conferred to Poonam Anand of Lakshyam.
Actors Sushant Singh and Rati Agnihotri, Dancer Sudarshan Sahu,DIG of Police Lucknow, Navniet Sikera, Golfer Neelam Pratap Rudy, Miss Iran Mallika Amina, Wrestler Sushil Kumar, Singer Manoj Tiwari; Mohsina Kidwai MP Rajya Sabha, Rashi Anand and Poonam Anand from NGO Lakshaym spiced up the evening.
While speaking on the occasion, Anshum Anand said: “I am glad as so many faces participated and supported our initiative. Also, the event has elicited tremendous response for our step ahead with Women empowerment project BHAAVANI. We are really looking forward to make things easy and possible for women as we salute them. They are our ‘Naari Shakti’ and we hope to be a good help for them as the project has been unveiled for good deed”.
Sareen said: “The foremost aim of this project is to provide education, respect, motivation and awareness of their rights to girls and women to empower them with self confidence and over all development leading to their liberation”,
Dass pointed out: “The Gates and Custodian person of the year award is the result of private initiative and desire of the cultural, social and community support. The award was a prize and philosophy at the same time. We honour people, characterised by directness, openness, humanity and tolerance. ‘Person of the Year’ has proven to be a riser who has shown the will to achieve for the community and environment”.
The special attraction of the evening was Capt Vijyant Thapar Bravery Award in the honour of the Kargil War Hero who laid down his life at the age of 22. The award was bestowed on the winner by the parents of slain jawan.
The national team chosen for executing this project took oath to fulfill their responsibilities and the image of Bhaavini was unveiled.The Gates Education, Training and Healthcare Foundation (Known as Gates ETH Foundation), strives to provide education, healthcare and vocational training support to girls and women from underprivileged families within India.
The Foundation also provided motivational, leadership and de stressing support to Indian Armed forces specially the Indian Police in the form of workshops and counseling sessions.
It is formally associated with various educational institutes and laureates known globally for their academic excellence and trainings which include Uttar Pradesh Police, National School of Leadership from India and London Academy of Professional Training and The Custodian Media Ltd of United Kingdom to promote these programmes of social causes.
Gates ETH Foundation has been operational since May 2011. Since then, the Foundation has helped in de stressing more than 2,000 Policemen and motivating thousands of students.
