World Vision India ‘Walk Together’ in Bangalore on World Aids Day pressing the passage of HIV Bill

World Vision India is observing World Aids Day on December 3, 2013 by organising a ‘Walk Together’ from Town Hall-Corportion Circle in Bangalore urging the Government to pass the long pending HIV Bill in Parliament.
World Vision India reinforces along with communities and PLHIVs to not only observe World AIDS Day, but amplify our voices to urge national leaders to ‘Walk Together’ with PLHIVs and pass the HIV Bill that will protect their rights. It is time we respect and give proper direction to the Bill that was drafted after nation-wide consultations with different stake holders including PLHIVs, communities at risk of HIV, healthcare workers, children’s organizations, women’s groups, trade unions, lawyers, and State AIDS Control Societies. The HIV/AIDS Bill was finalized in July 2006 by the Health Ministry and submitted to the Ministry of Law in 2007. Since then, the Bill has been moving back and forth between the two ministries.
